GLP-1 weight loss: realistic expectations
What the medication does, what it doesn't, and why protein and training matter.

How it works
GLP-1 medications slow gastric emptying and act on appetite signaling. Most people describe it as food noise getting quieter.
It's a tool that makes a calorie deficit sustainable — it isn't a replacement for the deficit.
The titration curve
We start low and increase slowly. Nausea, constipation, and fatigue are most common in the first weeks and usually settle as your body adjusts.
Going up too fast is the number one reason people quit. Slower is not weaker.
Protecting lean mass
Rapid loss without enough protein or resistance training costs muscle, which lowers your metabolic rate and makes maintenance harder.
We set a protein target, add two to three resistance sessions a week, and track body composition rather than scale weight alone.
Coming off
There's a maintenance plan from day one — habits, tapering strategy, and a check-in schedule so the weight doesn't come back the moment the pen stops.
